You will find that the list of places I have been in Italy is amazingly short, being that I lived in Italy for all of my life…
It’s because C and I wanted to do as much as we could of the intercontinental traveling while we were young and without cardio-vascular issues, leaving Europe for our middle age and our own Italy for when we would be more mature, let’s say.
Even because Italy is expensive, so once more, no country for young men.
Now that we moved overseas of course, “intercontinental” has all a different meaning… as Alanis Morrissette once said:

Life has a funny way of sneaking up on you / Life has a funny, funny way of helping you out
